The Bonds

The Bonds are three mountains deep in the Pemigewasset Wilderness.  I first thought they were named after British secret agent James Bond 007, but I found out they weren’t.  Then I thought they were named after some dude from the past who beat up on Indians (Native Americans to you politically correct losers.), which would be kind of cool.  Since I lost too much money at a Native American casino, and any past kicking around of the ancient Foxwoods Casino tribe would make me smile and forget my losses.

To my surprise the Bonds were named after bail bonds.  Apparently these three mountains were always in trouble with the law.  They needed to be bailed out of jail using a bail bondsmen, so the name stuck to call the three mountains the Bonds.  You have West Bond who is known to B&E. (Break and Enter into backpacks, so don’t leave your pack unattended.)  Mount Bond is like the mastermind criminal who tries to steal jewels, and hide those jewels in the summit cairns.  And lastly we have Bondcliff, who is just a vicious jerk.  Bondcliff is the one who invented those junky Clif bars.  These supposed over priced energy non edible snacks that people must buy, but hate and refuse to eat.  Bondcliff uses the profits from the evil Clif bar money laundering scam to purchase snow to cover the bald spot on its head for the winter months.
